About mE
I’m Kolsoma, I am a registered and UKCP accredited psychotherapist offering in-person therapy and support to adults and couples local to Walsall, Birmingham and surrounding areas. I also offer online video sessions for clients situated throughout UK and abroad.
For many people, life’s unpredictability can bring about deep emotional challenges. At times we may find ourselves wrestling with overwhelming emotions, relationship issues, or inner conflicts that can feel insurmountable and having someone compassionate to help navigate those inner struggles can indeed be transformative. A therapist or a trusted guide can offer not only understanding but also tools and perspectives that allow us to process, heal, and move forward with a greater sense of clarity and resilience.
Therapy is an opportunity for you to have the time and a safe, confidential space to explore your life, yourself and any issues which you feel are causing you concern or distress. However, taking that first step to come to therapy can feel like a daunting and deciding on which therapist to see is an important decision. So, please take a look at my profile and feel able to get in touch if you have any questions about me, the services that I offer or for a free, no obligation telephone consultation.

Training, qualifications & experience
I have a wealth of experience and qualifications, particularly in supporting couples and vulnerable adults which offers me deep insights into the complexities of mental health. I also have many years of experience working ex-service members and veterans dealing with trauma and reintegration into civilian life, which can bring unique challenges. Working with trauma and integration has provides a strong foundation to help these individuals rebuild stability in their personal and social lives and relationships.
I built a strong academic base in psychotherapy by completing my Masters in Integrative Psychotherapy and set up my own private practice in 2019 supporting adults from Walsall, Birmingham and surrounding areas. Using an integrative approach allows for flexibility to draw from different therapeutic modalities, I am able create a tailored plan that is unique for each individual client. This holistic method likely helps address the complexities of their experiences on multiple levels—emotionally, mentally, and sometimes even physically
I am an accredited member for UKCP (UK Council for Psychotherapy) and a registered member of the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) the largest professional organisation for counselling and psychotherapy in the UK. I adhere to all guidance and the ethical frameworks set out by this professional body.
I have completed my part 1&2 EMDR training (Eye movement desensitization and reprocess) as well as a Diploma in Couple counselling with Sherwood Psychotherapy Training Institute.

I recommend an initial minimum of 6 weekly sessions to begin with. This is to allow time for our work to evolve, for us to start building a therapeutic relationship, and for you to have a good idea of what it is like working with myself as your counsellor.
After those first 6 sessions we’ll review your experience so far. If you choose to continue beyond those first six sessions our therapy work together becomes open ended until we agree to end. We regularly review to make an informed decision whether sessions are beneficial to you and whether you wish to continue.
At some point further into our work together you may choose to eventually reduce sessions to a fortnightly basis.
